The largest of these ruins is known as Great Zimbabwe and it is located at the head of the valley of the Mtilikwe River. These ancient ruins represent the rich historical and cultural heritage of the country. This city in the south eastern Zimbabwe was previously known as Fort Victoria until 1982. Afterwards, the city was renamed as Nyanda only to be changed to Masvingo again.
