It houses 3 different sections namely the Herbarium, Botanical garden and an Educational Center. National Herbarium and Botanic Gardens offers information on indigenous plants of the country. It also conducts study and research on the various species of plants grown in the Botanical gardens here. The Herbarium houses 500,000 species of plants. It serves as the main reference center for conducting research on plants and naming plants belonging to the Flora Zambesiaca region.
The Botanical Garden is home to 900 trees and shrubs belonging to the regions of Highveld, eastern Highlands and Lowveld. Here in the gardens you will also get to see plants belonging to Australia and Asia.
